My footprints on a bush track in the Central Australian Desert region
Readers of the Road Less Travelled Blog will have noticed some articles are written by Guest Writers.
Although I’ve travelled to quite a few places in several countries (considering I’m only in my mid 20’s), I realised that I couldn’t give readers a bigger perspective about the many interesting places to see around the world without asking other people to write about their experiences living, working or travelling abroad.
Benefits for Guest Writers
1. If you have your own website you can include a link to it in the author profile at the bottom of the article as well as linking to your photo gallery (if you have one). Links in the author profile carry full SEO strength, they are not “nofollowed”.
If you don’t have a website of your own I can link to another link of your choice eg: your Linkedin.com profile page.
In either case you can also write a paragraph or two describing yourself at the bottom of the article. I allow guest writers much more generous attribution and thanks than other websites do.
2. If you write 3 or more Guest Articles I’ll give you a FREE quality photo t-shirt with a Road Less Travelled theme designed by me
3. If you write 6 or more Guest Articles you have a chance to be given a gift voucher eg: Amazon.com or FREE products that I have reviewed on my Rambling Thoughts Blog eg: Portable MP3 player, Mobile phone, Portable video player, Photo LCD keychain, Music headphones etc
Guest Writer Guidelines
- Unique Blog posts/articles: All articles written by guest writers should not have previously been published anywhere on the internet. Once published on the Road Less Travelled Blog they cannot be republished on another website.
- Guest Writer topics: My sites theme is “the Road Less Travelled” so preferably guest writer articles should be about travelling to places off the beaten track, backpacking, bush walking, trail walking, hiking, working as an expat or living in places which don’t get much publicity
- Article length: Articles can be as short as a few hundred words, or as long as a few thousand words. It’s up to you but but the article must be of good quality. I’m not interested in really short articles with poor spelling & grammar from people just looking to get a link back to their website.
- Photos: You can use your own photos from your digital camera and I’m happy to link to your online photo gallery or I can source appropriate photos to use in the article

Hi, I would be interested in posting on your blog. My travel is mostly around the United States but I have some amazing photos from Cancun, St. Thomas, St. John, Hawaii (obviously that is part of the US)… I’ve got quite a few photos up at http://www.dawsonps.com/travel
Yes, I will look through my photo stock and see if I can contribute to this blog. I have been to Europe and Russia about a dozen times and all through the Caribbean. I always got of the beaten path into the back channels. I speak German and Russian and it is more enjoyable to get away from the tourist parade and hotels.
