Photography is not just about going to specific events at specific times to get a great photo. Real photographers keep an eye out at all times for opportunities to take a great photo … because we know that these opportunities are often one off and can be gone in seconds.

I was very slowly plodding through receipts needed for my business tax return today when I turned around and looked at my office wall.

I saw the left to right progression of lines getting longer and the sharp orange/black contrast so I quickly snapped half a dozen shots with my Canon S90 compact camera before the colour disappeared a minute later.

  1. I notice this shot was taken with an “instamatic” camera as well… so not only is the best shot the one you see, but the one you see with the camera you have.

Many of my most popular photos are those that are transitory moments, the one that the photographer sees.

    Well captured and explained.

  2. Well, thought it was time to introduce myself, been reading so much about this place I thought best to signup and participate and helpout if I can.
So..hello and I hope to learn and help others out..peace
